Coming Soon...

Hi everyone,

We recently had a delivery here at Hurricane Films of two suitcases full of old photographs! They belonged to a man in Liverpool and tell the story of his life and his family through photos. We've been sorting through them and organising them, trying to find out more about who this man was.

We'll upload the collection to People's Stories soon so you can all see for yourselves.

Until then keep uploading your stories and photos to www.peoples-stories.com!

The Winner Is...

The 'My Liverpool' competition ended on Sunday, and the winner with her photograph 'Playing Outside' was LouiseC!

Louise's picture of children playing on a summer evening on Greenfield Drive, Huyton, won with the most votes, with Ken Rose's picture of 'Kendal Castle' coming a close second.
Louise is now the proud owner of the Canon Camera, donated by Real Camera, and will get her winning picture published in the upcoming People's Stories: Liverpool Lives book. Well done to Louise!

Take a look at the winning photo and keep your eyes peeled for our next competition at www.peoples-stories.com.

'My Liverpool' competition

Hello again,

Well, I said that we would keep you updated about the competition and there is some great news.  The first 'People's Stories: Liverpool Lives' competition will be launching on Monday 25th April.  The theme for the competition will be 'My Liverpool'.

More details will be heading your way over the next few days, such as explaining the theme more and giving details on voting.  I just wanted to keep you all up to date.

If that wasn't enough to have you looking forward to Monday then I have managed to get you all a sneak peek at the prize for the competition (from Real Camera):

It's a traditional film camera that will have you taking great photographs in no time!

Once again, make sure to keep your eyes on the 'People's Stories' website itself and our social network sites (Facebook and Twitter) for the latest news.  We are all looking forward to seeing your competition entries when the time arrives.

Dates and sunshine

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a good weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.  It looks like we will be having more heading our way throughout the week so I've got my shorts at the ready.  Spirits are high in the office today after a good footballing weekend as well, not to mention the fantastic Grand Prix.

The first 'People's Stories' competition will be on its way as soon as everything is ready, so apologies for the delay in providing more details.  You will all be the first to know when the new start date is announced and I will try to give you a sneak peek at the prize too.

Well, I hope you all enjoy the upcoming week of sunshine.  Don't forget to gather your favourite photographs for the upcoming competition.  The theme will be announced later today.

The good weekend...

Good morning,

I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine over the weekend.  It really was hot and the temperature just seemed to rise throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday.  Then there was of course the Grand National.  It was a terrific race and some of us here at Hurricane HQ ran out winning some money, which never hurts.  Of course there was also bad news at the National.  Ornais and Dooneys Gate both died on the day and our thoughts go out to the horses and all involved with them.

When it comes to 'People's Stories' there is a lot going on right now.  We are currently putting the finishing details into the upcoming competition, which will hopefully be heading your way next Monday (18th).  Keep your eyes on the website and the social pages (Facebook and Twitter) as hopefully further news will be heading your way either today or tomorrow.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and that the week ahead is a good one for you.

It's been a while...

Hello there everyone,

It's been a while since any of us have posted on here so I thought I would drop by.  Things at Hurricane HQ are as hectic as ever but 'People's Stories: Liverpool Lives' still remains one of our priorities.  The images and stories you have all contributed thus far have been fantastic.  It's great to see the other memories that are surfacing due to those initial stories and pictures.

There is also some inside news that I would like to share with you all.  We are currently working on a competition for the website.  Have your best pictures and stories at the ready as I'm sure you will all want to take part.  We will keep you all updated on the competition and when it is ready to go you will all be the first to know.

Anyway, I hope that you have all been enjoying the website so far and there are many exciting things on the way.  Keep checking back on a regular basis and don't forget to share your memories with us all.  They really make the website what it is.

Hidden contributions

Good afternoon,

I hope you are all enjoying the 'People's Stories: Liverpool Lives' website.  There really are some fantastic stories, images and videos on the website.  Many of them require some browsing to find and are hidden away from the main page.  If you want to find more then click on the 'stories' tab and you can look through all of the stories, images and videos.

We are always looking for more contributors and people really are enjoying seeing all of the submissions on the website.  It is already beginning to paint a picture of life in Liverpool.

I hope you are all having a good week and we look forward to hearing more of your stories over on the website.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from everyone at Hurricane Films HQ!  Now that the holidays are well and truly over, we are all back to work.  No more holiday food and no more snow, which some might say is a good thing.

The 'Peoples Stories: Liverpool Lives' website has had a bit of an overhaul over the holiday period so pop over and take a look if you haven't already.  New featured stories and competitions will be coming soon so keep an eye out for those too.

Don't forget that we are still looking for your stories and any old pictures (or film) that you may want to share.  Hopefully 2011 will be filled with further stories of Liverpool.
